Postcards

A fun way to keep in contact with your customer. If you take some time to design the front, they become keepers. They'll end up on bulletin boards, fridges and office cubicles!

Specifications

Size: Standard postcard sizes are 4"x6", 5"x7" or 5.25"x8.25", but you can design a postcard many different sizes. Keep in mind the size and weight according to Canada Post standards when deciding what size to go with.

Paper Stock: Postcards are usually done on coated, card stock ie, coated 1 side, 8pt or 10 pt. For large volumes, printing on glossy paper often is most feasible.

Colour: Postcards are typically 4/1, which make them very cost effective, but there is no rule against a 4/4 postcard. Just keep in mind that you need to leave a space for the mailing address if it is addressed admail. If its publications mail, you'll need space for your publication number.

Die-Cut Direct Mail

Die-Cut Direct Mail is a unique way to make your sales piece stand out. Although, it is more expensive to die-cut a job, sometimes it is what puts you into the hands of your customer over your competition.

Specifications

Size: Die-Cut Direct Mail has no standard, but, once again, keep in mind the size and weight according to Canada Post standards when deciding what size to go with.

Paper Stock: Die Cut Direct Mail is usually done on coated, card stock ie, coated 1 side, 8pt. or 10 pt. The weight and finish may vary depending on the job.

Flyers

Flyers are great for events, sales items, launching new products and specialty items. Very cost-effective with many distribution choices.

Specifications

Size: Standard flyer size is 8.25"x10.5" or 11"x15" (flat size), but you can design a flyer many different sizes. Flyers can be 2 to 32 pages.

Paper Stock: Flyers are typically run on a light uncoated stock. There are several different options available.

Inserts

Inserts are an extremely cost-effective way to reach your customer on a regular basis. You can either advertise many products or keep it focused on a specific sale or event.

Specifications

Size: Standard insert sizes are 5.25"x8.25", 8.25"x10.5" or 11"x15" (flat size). They can be 1-4 pages and may need to be folded smaller depending on the distribution method choosen.

Paper Stock: Standard paper is a light gloss or uncoated stock. Uncoated stock options are also available.

Newsletters and Magazines

As any magazine publisher will tell you, magazines are a full-time job to put together, but a great way to develop relationship with your customer and magazines obviously have a much longer shelf life than most sales pieces.

Specifications

Size: The typical newsletter and magazine size is either 5.5"x8.5" or 8.5"x11". Magazines or newsletters can be up 256 pages.

Paper Stock: The typical magazine stock 70 lb or 80lb gloss. Many times the cover is printed on a heavier weight paper.
